5 Song Recommendations, 12/16/24

Excuse my eclectic taste, please.

1. BLACCMASS - Big 𝒜𝓇𝒾𝒶𝓃𝒶 Go 𝐇𝐚𝐰𝐤 𝐄𝐦 (Positions Drill Version)

Ariana Grande impeccably floating on top of a Chief Keef type drill beat is the kind of thing I really enjoy hearing. I wish artists would swerve out of their genre guardrails and try more things like this.

2. Windows 96 - Reflections

This comes from Brazilian artist in Sao Paolo. They make some of the most beautiful vapor-wave albums I’ve ever heard. Great driving music.

3. Arturo Sandoval - Funky Cha Cha

   Okay, I’ll admit it. I played this song in high school Jazz Workshop and am still in love with it. The video is also wildly entertaining (Arturo yells at saxophone soloist!). Undisputed banger.

4. non-a (Full Album) - Aesop Bach

   Favorite track here is definitely “Abandon All Hope”. The thundering horns over Aesop Rock’s dense wordplay is almost overwhelming. Mix is astonishingly good. Highly recommend having the lyrics up while you listen.

5. BLACCMASS - Yeat & Mariah Carey - Bak Off Em' (Part 2)

Yeat’s “Bak On ‘Em” flow is almost transcendental over the Mariah Carey “Shake it Off” beat. It just works. BLACCMASS can’t miss, he’s got the golden ear. It’s also ever-so-slightly slowed down, which makes it hit different.
